About The Brewery, History And Region Wolf Of The Willows is an independent, family owned brewery founded by Scotty and Renae McKinnon in 2014. The brewery began with the release of its XPA before developing a wider range that now includes refreshing lagers, hop driven ales and ambitious barrel aged dark beers. The name Wolf Of The Willows comes from an old description of wild hop vines growing around willow trees. The vigorous vines were said to twist around and overwhelm the trees like a wolf among a flock, inspiring the Latin name Lupus Salictarius. Today the brewery operates from Mordialloc in Melbourne’s bayside region, where its brewery and taproom have become a popular local destination.
