Quelque Part Au Delà De L'arc-en-ciel / Messorem
À PROPOS DE CETTE BIÈRE
Vendor: Sir John Type: Stout & Porter Price: 34.99 It’s practically a tradition by now: our annual stout and barleywine blend with Messorem. Once again, we’ve treated ourselves to some stellar components. On our end, a barleywine aged for 28 months in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels; from the guys at Messo, a blend of barleywine and imperial stout aged for 30 months in Bearface Canadian whisky barrels. It pours pitch-black and is brimming with mellow cocoa aromas—think 95% dark chocolate. It’s not overly heavy, yet far from the kind of beer you’d want to chug. This is a late-night sipper—a smooth, warming brew that leans more toward a digestif or something to share around a campfire. The barrel character weaves in subtly, maintaining a perfect balance of creaminess, acidity, and bitterness, while leaving behind faint, peat-like notes of cigar, fig, and date squares with a hint of extra spice. Cheers to you, and cheers to our longtime pals at Messorem!
