About The Brewery And Region Mountain Monk Brewers is an independent, family owned brewery based in Mount Beauty in Victoria’s High Country. The story began in 2017 when the owners took over the former Mount Beauty Workman’s Club and transformed it into a welcoming local venue. After several years spent developing recipes and planning the brewery, a brewing system was installed in 2022. The first Mountain Monk beer was poured later that year, beginning a range inspired by European monastic brewing traditions, regional hospitality and the natural beauty of the Victorian Alps. Mount Beauty sits beneath Mount Bogong and is surrounded by mountains, rivers and alpine scenery.
