Moscatel Dorado Sherry 17.5%

We were lucky to meet with Cesar Florido Jr, a 6th generation sherry maker in Chipiona, close to Jerez, during a trip to Andalusia. Cesar Florido is one of the oldest bodegas in the area and unique in its dedication to and passion for the Moscatel de Alejandria grape. This grape loves the sandy soils and hot, dry climate of Chipiona. Most Chipiona Moscatel is sold directly to the large sherry houses in Jerez – Cesar Florido is one of the only winemakers bottling his own wines. This lovely sweet sherry is from grapes that are crushed and fermented without any drying, before spending one year in solera. You’ll find rich grape aromas balanced with dried fruits and a subtle nuttiness. It’s perfect for pairing with everything from sweet treats, cheese and festive fare.
