À PROPOS DE CETTE BIÈRE

Classic Belgian tripel with creamy texture, bright citrus, soft spice and elegant warmth. Tripel Karmeliet is one of Belgium’s most iconic tripels, brewed from a historic 1679 recipe built around three grains: barley, wheat and oats. In the 330ml bottle, it is bottle refermented, which gives it lively character, extra complexity and a higher 8.4% ABV. It is a beautifully refined beer, balancing depth, freshness and a silky, polished feel in the glass. Tasting Notes Aroma: Complex and refined, with vanilla, herbs and lifted citrus. Palate: Medium bodied and delicately warming, with freshness from the wheat, creamy texture from the oats and soft notes of lemon cake, coriander seed and hay. Finish: Silky, gently spicy and dry, with a lightly quinine like close that keeps it bright and beautifully balanced. Serving Suggestions Serve chilled in a proper chalice or tulip glass to let the aromatics open up and the creamy head build properly. This is a great choice for those who enjoy fuller flavoured Belgian ales with richness, texture and complexity, while still keeping a refined and elegant finish. About The Producer Tripel Karmeliet comes from the historic Bosteels Brewery in Buggenhout, a small town in East Flanders, Belgium. Brewing here dates back to 1791, and the brewery’s story is deeply tied to generations of Belgian family craftsmanship, with seven generations of the Bosteels family helping shape its identity over more than two centuries. What makes Tripel Karmeliet especially compelling is the way it connects old world brewing heritage with enduring elegance in the glass. The beer draws inspiration from a rediscovered 1679 recipe linked to a Carmelite monastery, built around three grains: barley, wheat and oats. That three grain foundation still sits at the heart of the beer today, giving Tripel Karmeliet its distinctive texture, layered complexity and refined balance. The modern beer was launched in 1996, yet it feels timeless because it is rooted in a much older Belgian brewing tradition. Rather than chasing power alone, it reflects the classic strengths of the region: depth, texture, perfume, drinkability and a real sense of place. It is one of those beers that feels unmistakably Belgian from the first pour. Buggenhout itself sits in the Flemish brewing heartland, and that regional setting matters. East Flanders is a part of Belgium with a long and proud beer culture, where historic breweries, village traditions and careful brewing methods remain central to local identity. In that context, Tripel Karmeliet stands as both a regional icon and an international benchmark, a beer that carries the character of Belgian brewing history while still feeling polished, relevant and beautiful to drink today. Cellaring Potential This bottle drinks beautifully now, but its bottle refermentation and strong Belgian tripel structure also give it the capacity to develop further over time if stored well.
