Flemish Style Brown Ale 5.9%

Oud Bruin is such a rarely conceived style and has such an unusual, complex and intense meld of flavours, that it stands completely in its own field. The beer pours a dark reddish brown with a soft head that dissipates relatively quickly. Give it a good sniff before the foam departs to get notes of brown bread, iron, and freshly chopped wood. The body is sharp & direct, although the carbonation is light the acidity makes it feel quite spritzy. Immediately you’re hit with flavours that are both rich and sour, thick skinned red fruits, a hint of strawberry, quickly giving way to the acetic notes, balsamic vinegar, minerals, hints of leather and the tannins you might expect in a strong iced tea.
