Chimay Doree Gold
À PROPOS DE CETTE BIÈRE
“Light Trappist blonde with citrus, florals, clove, fresh grain and gentle bitterness.” Chimay Dorée Gold Bottle is the lighter side of Chimay, but it still has loads of that classic Trappist character. At 4.8% ABV, it is fresh, lively and incredibly easy to drink, with citrus, florals and gentle spice sitting over a soft grainy malt base. There is a lovely mix of lemony citrus, clove and fresh cereal notes, with just enough bitterness to keep the finish crisp. It has plenty of flavour without the weight of Chimay’s stronger beers, making it a great choice when you want something genuinely Belgian and characterful but still refreshing. Tasting Notes Aroma: Citrus, fresh florals, clove and gentle spicy notes. Palate: Light and refreshing with soft malt, cereal, citrus and subtle spice. Finish: Clean and crisp with lingering grain, citrus and a gentle bitterness. About The Brewery Chimay is one of Belgium’s great Trappist breweries, with its beers brewed at Scourmont Abbey. The abbey was established in 1850, and Chimay continues to brew within the Trappist tradition, with the brewery closely tied to the monastic community and the local region. Chimay Dorée has an especially interesting history. It was originally reserved for the monks, their guests and people working at the abbey before eventually being made available more widely. Today it remains the lightest beer in the core Chimay range, offering plenty of character at a much more moderate strength. The 750ml bottle is a great format for sharing and gives you a chance to enjoy a different side of Chimay, lighter and fresher, but still unmistakably Trappist.
