Chandler’s Ford Luftschloss German

German IPA | 6.2% ABV Commercial Description: Luftschloss means a dream that a person longs for, even though it is usually unattainable, and directly translates to « air castle ». This was the perfect descriptor for this beer concept! German pilsner and wheat malt combine for a simple grist, bittered with GR Tettnanger and a late boil addition of GR Hallertau Blanc and GR Mandarina Bavaria for flavor, with a small Whirlpool addition of Hallertau Blanc. Fermented under pressure at ale temps with our German Lager yeast, much like the Huntschill Cold IPA Fermentation schedule, and dry hopped with GR Mandarina Bavaria towards the end of fermentation. The result is a crisp but soft IPA, with an orange pithiness mid palate, and a lingering bitterness. Prost Y’all!
