Bush Caractère

Introduced in 1933 as « Bush Beer, » this is one of Belgium’s oldest speciality beers and the flagship brand of the Dubuisson Brasserie. The Bush Caractère is a filtered, top-fermented beer created with malt, hops, natural sugars, water from the brewery’s own subterranean source, and an 80-year-old house yeast. This beer’s prominent bitter-sweet flavour, delicate taste structure, and unique amber colour are all owing to the caramel malts used, as well as the master brewer’s ability and patience (the beer rests for four to six weeks). With a 12% alcohol content, the high density (malt percentage) and vigourous house yeast make this one of the strongest Belgian beers.
