Bright Brewery Black Diamond

“Bold Black IPA with tropical fruit, citrus, pine, dark malt and a firm resinous bitterness.” Bright Brewery Black Diamond Black IPA Can is dark, hoppy and full of character, bringing together the best parts of a big IPA with just enough roasted malt to give it extra depth. Tropical fruit and citrus hit first, followed by pine, dank hops and a subtle roasted edge. At 6% ABV, there is plenty of flavour here without it becoming too heavy. The palate stays dry and hop driven, with firm bitterness balanced by smooth dark malt. If you like your IPA with plenty of hops but want something a little darker and more interesting, Black Diamond is well worth a look. Black Diamond takes its name from the difficult black diamond ski runs found at Victoria’s alpine resorts. First brewed as a bit of a rebellion, it has since become one of Bright Brewery’s much loved annual releases and a benchmark Australian example of the Black IPA style. The current 440ml release uses a big hop combination including Enigma, Citra, Amarillo, Simcoe and Mosaic, layered over Pale, Munich, Crystal and Midnight Wheat malts.
