Vendor: Sir John Type: Stout & Porter Price: 34.99 In the American Midwest, there are two breweries that have formed an « Arcane Alliance. » Once a year, Bearded Brewer and Lumen Beer Co. join forces to create a truly extraordinary beer. This year, we had the chance to join that alliance ourselves. The result? *Alliance Occulte*. It is a blend of two imperial stouts: one aged for 26 months in Bluegrass bourbon barrels and the other for 19 months in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. The blend is then conditioned with Thai wild bananas, peanuts, cacao nibs, and marshmallows. It tastes like heaven. Notes of cinnamon, raisin, plum, and caramel come through. Cacao takes center stage, eventually giving way to banana, which then fades beneath the peanut flavor and the creamy richness provided by the marshmallows. It is round, indulgent, and perfect for warming you up—whether you’re gathered around a campfire or hanging out with friends. It’s an alliance sure to charm every beer lover!
