The hop fields of America have crossed the Atlantic — and have arrived in the Netherlands. Hop Growers of America (HGA) is teaming up with Untappd for a first of its kind brewing competition, and trust us, this one’s going to be a banger.
If you’re new to HGA, think of them as the behind the scenes champions of U.S. hop growers. They support farmers, track the stats that keep the industry sharp, fund research, and spread the word about what makes American hops so special. They host technical seminars with master brewers, show up at global tradeshows, and run brewing contests around the world — all to spotlight the quality, consistency, and downright irresistible aroma profiles of U.S. hops.
HGA has sent four standout U.S. hop varieties to each participating brewery:
• Dolcita™/ HBC 1019 — Sweet citrus and tropical charm
• Vista — Juicy, expressive, and built for modern styles
• CTZ — Bold bitterness with resinous punch
• Centennial — A timeless classic with bright floral citrus character
Each brewery gets the same hops — but what they do with them is entirely up to their imagination.
